I absolutamente LOVE this podcast. I came across this podcast because I was searching for Santa Muerte stories (as a devotee I wanted to see how many people actually talk good about her) Which Ayden did a great job and after that — I’ve been HOOKED!!!! Even better he’s from Texas and I wanted to support a local ghoul bae. Thank you so much for everything you do. Would love to have you on my own podcast too 😊 👻

Makes it feel like home
Great podcast! I’m originally from Laredo, tx so I am all too familiar with these stories. I have also learned a lot of new ones! Reminds me of those summers making carne asadas and telling scary stories with friends and family growing up.

Fun stories well told
Ayden’s love of storytelling shines through in this well researched and finely crafted series that showcases Latin folklore, both familiar and obscure.

So so good
I am so glad I found this podcast 🖤🤍🖤🤍

Letter from the beyond 👀
Hi! I came across your podcast recently when I was looking for local creators from the Valley. It's so refreshing to have a person that has experienced the same stories and culture that I did. The Valley is unique in its own way, thank you for representing us 😊 Ever since I can remember I've had paranormal experiences, I don't think I ever realized it wasn't normal until I was about 8 years old and I was able to connect the dots of what happened to me; I'm going to share that story with you today. Back when my sister and I were young my parents struggled a lot to keep our family afloat. We used to live in a very run down apartment in Mcallen and my parents did everything they could to save up enough money to purchase a home. When they finally were able to find one we were all so happy that we were moving from south Mcallen to the Sharyland area. For us, it was such a huge change and the main reason my parents decided to make that big purchase was because of the safer environment we would be in. The house we moved into was brand new, as in, my parents paid to have the home built on the plot of land. We finally moved in and got settled but, because of our financial situation my parents worked a lot. Even though I was 8 years old, I was often left home alone after school and on weekends. One of my mom's strict rules was "no le abras la puerta a nadie, no importa quien sea". As a small obedient child I stuck by this rule very well but, there was one weekend morning the doorbell rang and it was two nuns. I knew I shouldn't open the door but something in me just instinctively opened the door for them. By the time I could react we were already face to face and I knew I was going to get in trouble with my mom. These ladies came inside and asked me where my parents were and almost instantly I said "están en el trabajo, sale mi mama a las 7." The two nuns looked at each other, sat on the couch and just stared at me for an uncomfortable amount of time. Finally, one of them says " ya los vamos, no le abras la puerta a nadie, no importa quien sea" they both stood up and left. I decided not to tell my mom what happened since I didn't want to get in trouble. That same night my family and I were all sitting at the dinner table just talking (me mainly just listening). My mom starts to tell my dad she's still having her nightmares and she's been unable to sleep for days. My dad then asked her which nightmares and she responded "el de las monjas que se meten a la casa por la ventana". To my suprise, my dad tells my mom that he had been staying up after she went to sleep to be able to wake her out of her nightmares. He found out that what she was seeing wasn't actually a nightmare. My dad saw those two nuns walk up our sidewalk and walk in through the window that led into their bedroom. When he told her that, my dad immediately started welding a fence to go around our entire house. Once that fence was finished my mom stopped seeing those nuns. That was the first time I was able to connect the dots and realized that the two nuns that had been sitting in our living room earlier that morning were the same ones that my mom was seeing at night. To this day I still haven't shared this with her because I don't want to scare her. Since then we experienced a lot more paranormal happenings in that home, and it's still active now.

thrilling podcast🤩
Glad I found this podcast! Love listening to your uploads, especially when I’m home alone 👀 Ive definitely skipped through some content bcus it’s too scary but I’ll return to it when I’m feeling brave enough 😬 I’ve had my fair share of experiences from one of my previous homes. Maybe I’ll share via email sometime soon. Love listening 🖤 Also, I get confused when you say Ayden or Adrian. Is Adrian your middle name?? Either way, both names rock :)

My new favorite podcast
Found this podcast through the comments section in the RGV scary stories group! I’m HOOKED and sooo glad it’s a local podcast!

My favorite spooky podcast!!
I found this podcast through tik tok a few months back and I absolutely love it. I’m a big fan of Latino urban legends and this podcast is informative, funny and relatable. PLEASE keep up the great work! I look forward to the new episodes and I’m rooting for you!

Amazing!
I found the podcast on a tiktok and I’ve been hooked! A little story: when I was little we lived in a house behind my grandmas in Mexico andI remember my mom telling me to go sleep with my grandma at her house.. pero terca no quiera. So In the morning I got scared (I was like 4) cause I was alone so I went to knock on her door and no answer and I was about to rain so Lightning everywhere.. when I stood back I can see two red eyes staring at me.. so I just ran back to the house and covered until the sun came out.

Loving it!
I have been absolutely loving the Susto podcast. The stories that are shared on this podcast bring up such feelings of nostalgia for me. Being raised in a Mexican American family, scary stories were a crucial part of my upbringing. I came for the scary stories but stay because I believe in the values and beliefs of the creator of this podcast and I am so happy to support. Hoping that this channel only grows And continues to succeed!

Dancing With The Devil
My grandma told me and my cousins this exact story when we were kids! For the longest time I thought it was about someone she knew or someone in our family. She told us this story to warn us about staying up passed Midnight

I’ve listened to many podcasts before about scary things or urban legends but the way he tells every story makes it enjoyable and spooky. Please always continue with the podcast 🙏🏼

Thank you !!! For this podcast
I found this podcast due to someone on tik tok. I’m so glad they told me about it. I love growling up hearing stories my parents & family members used to tell me. I always wanted to hear more but I couldn’t ever find any. My family had a story about duendes, a lady dressed in white that hitched rides from people in Mexico. I also wanted to learn more about the bride that is or was on display in a wedding store that once belonged to the brides mother. I’m excited to hear all the podcast stories. Thank you 🙏

The best!!!
These are great stories to hear! I love the spooky ness of this! I love the merch too!!! I love my susto hoodie! So comfy and perfect! Thank you for all the time and research you do!!! xoxo

Great stories
I like to hear different spooky stories from around the world. Research of stories is great. I enjoy the fact that this podcast is based in south Texas. Living here, I’ve heard the stories before but now I know a little more about the story.

Wow. Super spoopy!!
Love the editing and production quality. Thank you for giving us something spoopy to look forward to during quarantine. Susto is almost as scary as the real life hell scape we’re enduring in the USA, but I digress. Great content. Great format. For true horror fans who like to hear scary content. 👻👻👻👻👻

Great podcast that explores the magical realism of the Valley
I just found this podcast and I am excited for more. I love hearing different perspectives on the same stories that were passed down to me . As a Mexican living in the Valley my childhood was permeated by the magical realism that was our every day. Living away from the Valley for a while now has made me appreciate these stories and shared cultural identity for those of us of from this great region of Texas. Keep up the great work!

Enjoying this so much!
I've been enjoying this podcast so much, these are all stories or folklore that most of us are already familiar with but it's awesome to have an RGV point of view. Keep it up! My story: I have had several weird situations happen not only in my apartment (where I'm living currently) but also at my parents house. This is one that happened in 2010; I was living in Alamo with my parents, brother and grandmother at the time. A regular day for us was my brother and I would go to school, my parents would work we would all meet at home at 5:30 - 6 PM and my grandma would stay at home alone until we returned. This day was going according to schedule; I got off of my bus and walked home at that same time my brother pulled up in his car, and my parents pulled up as well. As we walk in to my house my grandma was hysterical screaming in Spanish "Ay Ofilia! Desde que te fuiste en la mañana esta vieja no me deja en paz! Ya le dije que se largara pero no se va!" (Ofilia is my mom's name) In front of my grandma was where she would normally sit, on a huge heavy wooden rocking chair that was normally on the other side of the living room. My grandma was sitting in one of the sofas. My mom tried to calm her down and finally my grandma was able to tell us what happened. According to her as soon as my mom left in the morning a woman dressed in black with a bunch of dogs with her walked out of my room and stood right in front of her and said nothing but offered my grandma her hand as if to say come with me. My grandma cursed the woman and asked her to leave as she started praying but the lady wouldn't budge. Eventually my grandma tried to walk away from her and sat on the sofa but the lady simply dragged the wooden rocking chair and sat in front of my grandma for hours until we walked in. My mom calmed her down and set her to bed after some tea and she called the whole thing just a figment of my grandmother's imagination since she was home all day bored. This would've been a fine explanation but, my grandma passed away just 3 months later from respiratory complications. Really been enjoying the stories keep them coming!
